Study abroad shouldn’t be a privilege – it’s a catalyst for leaders we all need.
The Traveling Youth is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides scholarships and comprehensive programming for college and trade students who lack financial access to study abroad. Our month-long international program develops emotional intelligence, career readiness, and leadership skills that transform futures.
For young adults facing financial barriers, international education isn’t just expensive – it’s out of reach. It’s our mission to change that.
We provide scholarships covering 50-100% of our all-inclusive program that costs approximately $7,000 per student and covers everything: flights, housing, cultural activities, most meals, and comprehensive support.
Donating just $10/month helps us turn these barriers into opportunities.

Using the industry-standard EQ-i 2.0 assessment, we measure emotional intelligence growth before and after every program. The results speak for themselves:

Scholarship Process
Our scholarship process is a multi-step journey, beginning with a straightforward application. Instead of traditional essays, we request a concise 5-minute video submission, where you’ll answer specific questions about why you’re a deserving candidate. Our scholarships come in various levels, from full to partial support, and the number of scholarships available may vary from year to year, but we’re committed to sending more students on this life-changing trip annually.
Once your video application is in, our selection committee, made up of board members and volunteers, gets to work. They review each submission carefully to identify the individuals who best align with our mission. In the coming year, we’re enhancing our process by introducing in-person interviews. This additional step will help us ensure that we select students who will truly benefit from and make the most of this unique experience!

We’re in search of spirited individuals who crave cultural immersion and personal transformation. This is your chance – a unique opportunity that might come once in a lifetime. Explore our carefully crafted study abroad programs that blend education, adventure, and culture. We are always based in Prague and then we travel to a new country every year for a week. (Last year was Germany). We are excited to share the destinations we choose each year!
